Fostering and mentorship are two different things. On occasion, we have prospects who could benefit our breeding program. Foster dogs come back to us for breeding from time to time before they are allowed to be spayed or neutered. Everything about a fostered dog is the same as for a pet except that the breeder retains breeding rights for a established period of time. 

Mentorship is for very serious clients who want to show or trial their pup in conformation, agility, obedience, or other dog sports. They also have a strong passion for the future of the breed and wish to eventually breed their own litter. Mentorship involves co-ownership of the puppy with strict criteria to meet before a breeding can ever take place.
