Our first Brown
Ch. Finnesse Phenomenon - Pimu
I'm your breeder, Linda Pietarinen.
Finnesse has been CKC registered since 1995.
In the beginning I was told,
"Judges only see black and white."
I listened but was always drawn to brown.
To my delight there was a surprise brown
in one of my litters. I finished her CKC Championship on my own!
The early years...

Breeding Champions
Following conventional breeding practices, I used a stud dog with some well-known North American champions in his pedigree. He did not disappoint in terms of show quality and his movement was breathtaking. I knew what the judges wanted and how to produce champions by doing what every other show breeder did.

Lather, rinse, repeat.... see some of our champions below!

Inevitably, this was not good enough for me when the litany of health problems plaguing standard poodles began to rear their ugly head and the truth about the lack of diversity behind standard poodles became evident.

This gallery of champions is far from exhaustive. All of the dogs here, with the exception of our Czech boy(Ch. Alwaro Brown Bajgastop), are part of our past.
We have had the pleasure of breeding and owning many other standard and miniature poodles that are not presented here. Our contribution to poodles can be found around the globe as far as Germany, Russia, USA, and throughout Canada.

We look forward to sharing a
"Modern Poodle for Our Modern Times",
one that is robust, genetically diverse, and healthy.
